On a pleasure trip to Kelowna area, in April of 2005,
we went wine touring together and loved learning,
sampling and conversing with the winery owners and
wine shop attendants and soon were joking around
(we love to laugh and tease) at a winery.
When Bruno was asked if he was interested in purchasing anything
he responded by saying “Yes, your winery”
The very nice lady informed him that it wasn’t for sale -
but that another winery in the area was!
At that point it was just a joke…
but we did go out to look at that winery for sale.
By the time our mini vacation was over we were excitedly discussing
the possibilities and potential of being winery owners and operators
and how the winery could be improved and what our skills were and
how much we would have to learn! A short time later Bruno made a
purchase offer! Unfortunately, that first winery wasn’t for us and the
deal fell through, but by then we were determined to find a little patch
of the Okanagan of our own and we started another search.
Soon we found a “fixer – upper” on the Golden Mile
and the journey began in earnest!
